OLD SETTLERS FESTIVAL

Odon Park is the site of the annual Old Settlers Festival, a favorite Indiana regional fair drawing thousands annually.

Held in August, the festival is an old time celebration with a parade, fun filled midway, carnival rides, live traditional music, a wide variety of old fashioned carnival treats and local fair delicacies to eat, and many crafts, exhibits, and demonstrations.

The oldest such festival in Indiana, Old Settlers has its roots in the early 1800s when a local Civil War veteran offered the park, then his personal grove, as a site for early residents to reunite, share food and memories, and celebrate their beginnings in the area with family and friends.

PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

DATE FOR 2008 TBA - 5:00 P.M.

Downtown Odon is the site for this annual event which began in October 2000. Events include games and contests for the youngsters, music throughout the evening, food stands, hay rides, costume events and special activities.

NORTH DAVIESS CRAFT SHOW

The North Daviess Craft Show which began in 1982 is held in November (2nd Saturday) at North Daviess High School and benefits the Riley Hospital for Children as well as the Odon Christian Church Mission Teams.

Hours of the Craft Show are 9:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. With over 140 booths of handcrafted items and food booths you are certain to find that special gift for someone or that item you have been looking to complete your home and garden. Breakfast and Lunch available.

SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

Come join us at the Odon Park for Spirit of Christmas in Odon. Hours are 6:30pm till 8:30pm. This event, held in December, began in 2001 and promises to be bigger and better.

The Festival will begin with a parade at 6:30 p.m. Monday Evening, leaving from the former site of the Odon Grade School proceeding down Main Street before turning onto Grove Street (by the Funeral Home) and ending at the Odon Park. All groups and individuals who wish to participate are asked to be at the staging area by 5:45 p.m. Officials ask that candy not be thrown along the parade route because of safety concerns. Floats may be left in the Park for the 3-day event and electricity will be available.

Santa will arrive with the parade and will be in his house at the Odon Park to visit with children and for photo opportunities.

Refreshments and entertainment will be in the Community building at the South side of the park each evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Free beans and cornbread will be served as long as they last on Wednesday evening.
